The Trailer For ‘Hostiles’ Just Dropped And I’m Not Impressed

Have you ever seen a trailer for a movie and immediately thought – wow, I won’t be watching that. That’s how I felt while watching the trailer of ‘Hostiles’ which is a damn shame because it has such a great cast, it’s being directed by Scott Cooper (who directed 2015’s Black Mass) and will probably be a great movie.

I mean, I didn’t enjoy The Revenant so what do I know.

I had to watch the trailer a second time to even begin to appreciate it.

One thing we can all appreciate though is its impressive cast. Besides Christian Bale in the lead role as Captain J. Blocker, ‘Hostiles’ also stars Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) as Rosalie, a suicidal widow who undertakes the dangerous and harrowing journey after the murder of her family; Wes Studi (Avatar) as a sickly and imprisoned war chief being brought home to die; Ben Foster (Hell or Highwater) as Philip Wills a criminal who Christian Bale’s character is escorting North and Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad) as a member of the unit responsible for escorting the war chief home.

With that kind of cast, you know the acting is going to be on point.

Not a lot is known about the plot of the movie besides the fact that it is a western.

The official plot of the movie does not give alot away:

An Army captain agrees to escort a dying Cheyenne war chief and his family back to his tribal lands in the year 1892.

Actually, the plot gives nothing away beside the basics but I will admit that the movie looks like it has some ‘grit’ and it’s going to be quite intense. So for those of you who enjoy that sort of thing…then this is just for you.

Here’s the trailer, judge for yourself:
