“Gringo” Looks Funny As Hell; David Oyelowo Brings His ‘A’ Game

When I saw that the trailer of “Gringo” had just dropped, I did not know what to expect. I hadn’t heard of the movie; no production news, no casting, nothing.

This was the first I’d heard of it so I went into it not knowing what to expect, I certainly didn’t expect to come out laughing my ass off. First of, I was sold on the Charlize Theron and Amanda Seyfried in an action movie together. But when I saw Joel Edgerton (my newest crush, for completely unexplainable reasons), I knew I was definitely going to see it – even though I still did not know what it was about. Then enter David Oyelowo doing with that Nigerian accent – this movie was giving me more and more reasons to watch it.

So here’s the trailer for you to decide for yourself, but I’m pretty sure you’re going to love it:

It looks really good, right?

Here’s the official plot of the movie:

“A mild-mannered American businessman finds himself in over his head after traveling to Mexico. He soon crosses the line from citizen to criminal while tangling with shady colleagues, international mercenaries, drug lords and the DEA.”

David Oyelowo is pretty funny in this, amirite?

I’m pretty excited to also see Sharlto Copley in this – I loved him as Christian Walker on Powers (it was cancelled too soon, IMHO). So yeah, the cast is pretty amazing here, the movie also stars Thandie Newton, Michael Angarano, Paris Jackson, Melonie Diaz and Kenneth Choi.

I won’t lie, I’m pretty excited about this.

Principal photography on Gringo began on the 7th of March, 2016 and the movie is expected to be released on the 9th of March, 2018.
